Naomi portrays a fragmented narrative using recurring symbols as an aid to unveil previously forgotten memories. Her intimate iconography reconciles her experience of loss, inviting ever-evolving reinterpretations of a personal mythology. The titles are mediated from cultural references and conversations with her late mother and now, ones with her sister.

Central to her paintings are depictions of vulnerability and young women. Naomi reflects on her dual roles as both a young woman and a parent figure to her sister who is navigating her own adolescence. She uses painting as a medium to re-visit hers with this perspective. Through her art, she delves into the confusion and isolation inherent in this transitional phase of life.

Working on a small scale, Naomi embraces the intimacy afforded by her domestic studio where the lines between art and life blur. Naomi uses the medium of watercolour on stretched cotton. Its sensitivity allows the work to hint at a forms perceptible outline without reducing it to a fixed image or narrative. The space embodies an intangible unearthly presence, appearing and disappearing simultaneously.

Naomi Boiko-Stapleton completed her BA in fine art painting at Brighton university in 2022, she has exhibited in group exhibitions across the UK including at the Saatchi gallery and Studio West as well as internationally and in 2024 exhibited at UNVT art fair in Madrid with La Causa Galeria. In 2023 she took part in the Good Eye projects spring residency and later that year was the overall winner for the 2023 Delphian open call. In 2024 she had her first solo show with Delphian Gallery.
