Yishi's paintings capture the profound moments of human-animal encounters. These scenes are not merely physical meetings but opportunities for mutual subjectivity and understanding. Yishi contrasts the small and fragile human figures with the vast and powerful presence of animals, reflecting her deep reverence for their spirit and strength.
Her art is characterized by a warm and peaceful aura, aiming to create a sense of tranquility and healing. The encounters across species can be more comforting and empowering, as their innocent gazes allow one to directly face the beauty and vastness of life. This dynamic highlights the animals' role in offering protection and serenity, inviting viewers to reconsider the traditional boundaries between humans and animals. Animals not just as beings to be dominated or tamed, but as powerful entities that shape our own subjectivities and existences.
Through her art, Yishi aspires to bridge the gap between humans and animals, drawing attention to the sacred and symbiotic relationships that can exist. By feeling the presence of these majestic creatures, she hopes to convey a sense of peace and reverence, offering viewers a moment of healing and introspection under their protective gaze.
